Derrick’s journey of public service started when he joined the Navy at the age of 18. He had the honor to serve our great nation for 26 years. He retired as a Navy SEAL Senior Chief with 5 combat deployments and several others to troubled areas in the world.
His first combat deployment was to Bosnia Herzegovina immediately following the signing of the Dayton Accords. During this time, he came to understand how truly unique and wonderful America is, and why She is not only worth emulating, but protecting.
Derrick continued his service with multiple combat tours to Afghanistan and Iraq. Additionally, he served in the Horn of Africa, Asia, Europe, and South and Central America.
During his tour in Europe in 2012, under the Obama administration, he was responsible for planning Special Operations contingency operations for the European Continent.
This is where he learned that when America has ineffectual leaders, Americans pay the price for this lack of strength. The direct result of this was the tragic killing of his former teammate Ty Woods and fellow SEAL Glen Doherty during the terrorist attack on the embassy annex in Benghazi, Libya.
Derrick was called back into public service, this time as a candidate for Congress in the 3rd District of his beloved State of Wisconsin.
Prior to his election to Congress, Rep. Tiffany served in the Wisconsin State Assembly and State Senate for the 12th District. He was a member of the Joint Finance Committee, which is responsible for the state’s budget, and served as chairman of the Senate Committee on Sporting, Heritage, Mining and Forestry. During his time in the state legislature, Rep. Tiffany worked to cut taxes, increase job creation, and protect 2nd Amendment rights.
Rep. Tiffany has deep roots in the 7th District. He grew up on a dairy farm near Elmwood, Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, with a degree in agricultural economics.
Rep. Tiffany is honored to represent the people of Northern and Western Wisconsin by restoring freedom to create a more prosperous America.

Unlike Democratic candidates for the same office, Leiber has no plans to expand the authority of the office. Voters decided not to eliminate it in a state referendum in 2018. His Republican opponent , Orlando Owens is proposing to shift audit and workplace development functions from the Governor’s oversight to the Treasurer’s. Its common to find audit responsibilities in most state Treasurer offices.
“I don’t think we need to expand the Treasurer’s office with roles that are already dealt with in other areas,” says Leiber.
During the state Republican convention, Leiber said “The Treasurer doesn’t usually help the ticket- you are unlikely to walk into the voting booth excited to vote for Treasurer – but it can hurt the ticket,” Leiber was referring to his opponent’s foreclosure and two bankruptcy filings after a divorce several years ago. Orlando Owens says that he utilized the tools available to him to survive, and since then has managed Housing and Urban Development programs for U.S. Senator Ron Johnson’s office, and started a successful real estate business with his second wife.
